We would like to give  Thanks!
To all Military and Veterans for your sacrifices, your valor, for the things you carry, protecting us and defending our Freedom. To God for providing us our Military and Veterans and giving us the ability to return our Thanks to them.

Our Mission

Military Pets Share is a non-profit 501c3 organization. We are devoted to easing the economic challenges for Military/Veterans with Pets in need by providing pet necessities. We are improving their health and well-being and allowing the Veteran to better care for themselves and/or address their situation financially without the worry of their pets care. We also assist with pet preventatives, spay/neuter and health care. We will address circumstances with homeless veterans with pets on a case by case basis.  We remain open to addressing circumstances where Military/Veterans require emotional support animals or service animals.

At the local events we attend, we sell a few products to help cover some of the costs, the majority of what is needed comes from donations of product (pet food and necessities) and monetary donations. We do rely heavily on the communities help to be able to assist our Veterans and their pets.  We sell volunteer homemade Catnip toys. A local Veteran who owns Cleona Coffee Roasters has joined our mission and makes our own Branded coffee. We offer Logo T-shirts  and Logo Hats which all come from local small businesses. Contact us with interest of purchasing from us.
How we started

Voluntering at a Military Share *(monthly program to provide food to Military families in need) we shared our funny pet stories (because we Love our pets!) and how rescue's are overflowing, how many pets we all added to our family and/or what they mean to us, the expense of food and vet care to prevent further vet care or more homeless  pets...etc. We talked about service animals and what pets mean to people emotionally...especially Veterans. If they can't afford food for themselves...how can they afford for their pets? One thing led to another...and so it began.  We took count and started collecting Pet Food to hand out at our monthly Meal Share. The appreciation was so great! One client told us he wished he knew about this during covid, He lost his house and this really makes a difference. As soon as he got back on his feet...he would return the help. So from there we knew we had to start expanding and started the nonprofit process...Here we are!

Now helping in multiple counties (hopefully more in the next year) on a monthly basis. We have also assisted with emergency need cases outside of the Meal Share program. We have handed out Food, treats, beds, toys and preventatives to Dogs, Cats, Chickens, a rabbit and birds!

Yes, Chickens! They even paint their talons so yes they are pets!

Where we are now and goals

With the Military Share program we are currently serving about 99 families in Lebanon, 97 families in Dauphin Counties. We are handing out on a monthly basis. Serving about 220 Dogs and 225 Cats. We have contacts with nonprofit trainers for service dogs and with rescue's to help find a pet for emotional support. We will help with the fees if funds are available and meet our criteria.

We have been asked to expand to a few other monthly sites because the need is so great, however we need the communities help both for product and volunteers in order to expand.

Goals with Food donations:

As of now we are able to hand out 3lbs of Dog food per Dog and 3lbs Cat food per 2 Cats and some cans, but 3lbs does not go far when you have 3 Dogs or even 1 Large breed! Our goal is to not have to break down bags and give a bag per pet.

Goals with Monetary donations:

Pay for veterinary care. Special Food for allergies, stomach sensitivities, kidney and other health concerns, Preventatives (flea, tick, worms, mites), spay/neuter (prevent more pets in the overflowing rescue's) and other health concerns. We are also in need of a way of storing the food from month to month in between handout date.

My cat, Whiskers, is not a pet, but a lifeline. During a severe mental health crisis, when I was preparing to end my life, Whiskers jumped into my lap, purring, head-butting, and pressing against me. That moment literally saved my life. Even now, thinking back brings tears to my eyes. Whiskers'’ presence, his need for me, and my responsibility toward him grounded me when I could not find a reason to keep going on my own. He is directly tied to my survival and my ability to continue during the most difficult period of my life.

During times of financial struggle, Military Pets Share has repeatedly helped me care for Whiskers, providing veterinary visits, medications, and care packages with food, toys, and essential supplies. Niki, the supervisor I have worked with, has regularly checked in on us, asking if there is anything we need or any way they can help. Their compassion and ongoing support have made a profound difference in our lives.

Without their help, I would have faced the impossible choice of surrendering Whiskers or delaying critical care. Programs like Military Pets Share fill a crucial gap, protecting both the animals and the people who depend on them. I am deeply grateful for their assistance and strongly believe their program deserves continued funding so they can continue to save lives like mine.

My father is an Air Force Veteran from the Vietnam Era and served a number of years in the National Guard. Approximately 3 years ago my mother his wife of 51 years passed Away. This left my father unexpectedly on a fixed income of one. The bills didn’t change yet the income decreased. My father lived with the family dog, Nova. She was his heart and they mourned my mother together. Nova meant the world to my father. Not long after my mother’s passing my father had open heart surgery and found he was severely diabetic. Between the new bills and the cost of feeding not only himself but also Nova financial hardship was only made worse. My father enrolled in the Military Pet Share Program and due to this has been able to keep Nova in the home and by his side through the last two years. The food, treats, flea medicines and sometimes toys that they provided gave both my father and Clove a happy life together. If this organization was not available to offer our aging veterans assistance my father may have spent the last two years alone, not only mourning the passing of my mother but heartbroken because he would have had to rehome Nova. They were able to stay by each other’s side until Nova’s passing this past July. Still enrolled my father is able to care for his new companion, Kira. The costs of everything rising in this day and age shouldn’t cheat those who gave so much in a lifetime out of the simple pleasure owning a pet gives them. Military Pet Share sees to it that not only our elderly population of veterans get assistance but that all veterans and active-duty military do. In times like Christmas, a government shut down or just because they are always there to help our veterans. What they offer is not just food or something to play with they offer happiness, take away loneliness and make sure man always has their best friend. I am grateful to this program and the ongoing enthusiasm to help that they put forth day in and day out.

Thank you for helping Buster. He's doing well and is not only an Champion for a 66 yr old loner. I truly needed to have him so we can hang out & entertain each other. If there is a way that i can give some back, plmk.

I don't think you understand how much you've done for me. Financial struggles are only a beginning. Maintaining an apt, healthcare & living gets more challenging day by day. BUT God, who is rich in mercy, gave me, of all things, a CAT! Taking care of him is helping restore focus & significance to my days and Buster shows his appreciation.  BUT GOD Eph 2 :4
